  Overall, my experience was mixed. Scheduling the appointment online was really easy, and I appreciated the automated updates throughout the process. The technician arrived on time and completed the work quickly, and they handled the insurance paperwork smoothly. However, the initial outcome wasn’t what I hoped for – the damage to my windshield was unfortunately irreparable, requiring a replacement. I felt pressured to add new wipers during the appointment and subsequent reminders, which I didn’t need. More concerning was the technician’s initial conversation, filled with legal disclaimers about potential further damage. While I understand the need to be cautious, it felt unnecessarily alarming. Adding to my frustration, I discovered new scratches in the A-pillar after washing my car – a detail that really felt like the final, upsetting touch. Thankfully, the local manager stepped in to help, and we were able to get a replacement windshield installed. It was a good repair, though I would have preferred they used black adhesive instead of white. I’m happy they took responsibility and resolved the issue, so I'm updating my review to four stars. report abuse

  I had a really frustrating experience getting my windshield replaced at the Safelite in Portland. It ended up taking three trips, and the last one was particularly annoying – they called me back because their system couldn't process my insurance information. Honestly, that was their issue, and I shouldn’t have had to deal with it. I drove 80 miles each way for those trips, and they didn't even offer to reimburse me for the gas or my time. While Michael apologized, which was appreciated, it wasn’t enough to make up for the huge inconvenience. The first two visits were also due to the bad weather, so it wasn’t Safelite’s fault. report abuse

  “I really appreciated how my tech took the initiative to keep me updated on the calibration timeline – it was incredibly helpful knowing there would be a delay and gave me time to plan my schedule.   Adam did a fantastic job. He was really communicative, letting us know about his arrival and a slight delay, and he was just a pleasure to have around – always pleasant, courteous, and even managed to keep a smile going while he sorted out the tricky computer issue with the liftgate! report abuse

  Overall, the job was completed, but there’s room for improvement. The work itself was done, however, the windshield wasn’t quite as clean as I’d hoped, and I did notice some minor scuffs on the hood – I’d appreciate it if those could be avoided in the future. report abuse

  Overall, Safelite was a fantastic experience for me. They really went above and beyond to get my windshield replaced quickly. There was a minor issue with the initial order, which was actually my mistake, but they were incredibly apologetic and took full responsibility, ensuring I got the correct replacement promptly. The mobile technician, Benjamin, was fantastic – professional, friendly, and got the job done in my driveway in no time.
