  Shahnur and Elena from Axis Architecture were fantastic to work with. They truly listened to our vision and expertly translated it into a beautiful home design. What impressed us most was their responsiveness – they were always happy to make revisions based on our feedback, and they were incredibly patient when we struggled to articulate our ideas. The architectural plans they produced were incredibly detailed and comprehensive, and thankfully, they passed the city review on the first try.   Working with Axis Architects was an absolute dream! As first-time homeowners tackling a renovation of our historic DC row-house – a really complex project with a 100+ year history – we felt completely overwhelmed. We knew we needed an expert to guide us through the whole thing, from budget and logistics (including moving our kids!) to the tricky DC permitting process. Shahnur from Axis really stood out.   Working through our nearly complete home renovation was a pretty big undertaking at first, but we honestly couldn’t have done it without Axis Architects. They were fantastic to work with – really involved in every step of the process. When we needed to make some changes to keep things on budget, they were incredibly helpful and found solutions for us. We ended up with a fantastic mudroom, a great office/den, a beautiful open-plan kitchen and dining room, a luxurious master suite, and a brand new bathroom.   Working with Axis Architects to redesign our third floor was an absolute pleasure. We hired them to create a more functional space for our family of four, specifically focusing on updating the master bathroom, building a dedicated laundry room, and expanding the closets in our kids’ bedrooms. We really appreciated their process of creating detailed plans upfront, which helped us ensure we got exactly what we needed before bringing in a general contractor. Shahnur and Elena were fantastic – they presented us with three really creative initial design ideas and then flawlessly translated our chosen design into a detailed demolition and building plan. They handled all the paperwork, including filing the building permit, and even provided valuable contractor recommendations. Throughout the entire construction process, they remained incredibly responsive, meeting regularly with the GC, addressing our questions and concerns promptly, and visiting our home to monitor progress. It was truly a seamless experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Axis Architects for any design or construction project – their dedication and creative vision are outstanding.
