“As a new customer, I’m really disappointed with my experience. It wasn’t the location itself, but the support I received from ADT. The tech specialists I spoke with were completely unhelpful, and I ended up having to figure out how to activate my cameras on my own. What really frustrated me was the lack of transparency – I wasn't informed about any service fees upfront. I was initially told a simple visit would cost $25, but then I was hit with a $50 fee and an unexpected $160 activation charge, which wasn’t disclosed until the technician explained it to me. I ultimately had to send him away because I wasn't prepared to pay that much. ADT needs to prioritize training their tech team and be much more upfront about all associated costs.”

“I’m incredibly frustrated with ADT. Our experience has been a nightmare. While the local technicians have been decent when they’ve come to do repairs – thankfully, the rest of the system has worked as expected – the company itself has been completely unreliable and disorganized. We moved into our new home after a year with our initial system, and were assured there would be no extra charges as long as we set up the new service quickly. Despite that promise, they took $3500 from our bank account, money we’d saved for our home closing. It took over a month to get a refund, and then another month before they started charging us for our old house even though we were told there would be no additional fees. Things just kept going wrong – our bill went through on auto-pay even when my card expired, they didn't even notice for four months until it was past due, and then they claimed we owed a significant amount of money with no explanation. It’s unbelievable! Now, every month, I’m having to track my bills carefully because payments seem to disappear. I’ve started taking screenshots to protect myself. Honestly, I’m ready to cancel. It’s been a consistently stressful and confusing experience.”

“I had a really frustrating experience with ADT. When I moved to South Carolina, I switched providers and was surprised to discover I was locked into a five-year contract, even though I’d only had the service for two years with my previous company in California. They hadn’t mentioned anything about a longer contract at the time. To add to the problem, the equipment cost me almost $1,000 when it arrived. Customer service was completely unhelpful; they said there was nothing they could do about it. It’s unbelievable – my neighbor has a similar service with Safeguard, and they have no equipment fees and only pay $22 a month. Honestly, ADT feels like a significant overcharge and a complete scam.”

Honestly, my experience with ADT has been incredibly frustrating. This review is about ADT as a company, not just the Anchorage branch. I was completely let down by their lack of flexibility. I tried to cancel my service early, and no matter what I said, they just kept trying to offer me lower rates and convince me to extend my contract. I spoke to so many different people, repeating myself over and over, but they wouldn't just honor my request to cancel. I strongly advise anyone considering ADT to think twice – they really don't seem to prioritize customer satisfaction.

“The customer service was fantastic, genuinely helpful and friendly. However, the incredibly long wait music was really distracting and made the experience feel a bit stressful – it needs to be adjusted.”

“I’m so pleased with the quick and professional service I received from ADT. Just two days after requesting an ADT system, I had a brand new security system installed protecting my home and family. Jamey and Eric were fantastic – they were both incredibly professional and did a really thorough job. Jamey especially went above and beyond, taking the time to walk me through the entire system and how it works, which really put my mind at ease. I definitely feel much safer now, and I want to thank Jamey and Eric for their excellent work!”

“I was really pleased with the service I received from ADT. Jamey and Josh were fantastic – they were both incredibly efficient and got the job done quickly. They also took the time to clean up thoroughly after themselves and explained the whole system really well, so I feel confident using it. I never felt pressured at any point and I’m really happy with the installation and the level of service.”

“I was really impressed with the company initially, they were very helpful in getting the system set up. However, I quickly found the warranty to be completely useless – I’m paying for it monthly and it hasn’t covered a single issue. A sensor fell off and they said it wasn't covered, and even after just replacing the battery three weeks ago, they still refused to help. Honestly, the customer service has been terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this company; there are definitely better options out there.”

I’m incredibly frustrated with my experience with ADT. After the cameras and door sensors were installed, I had an incident – something fell on my door while I was answering the bell, but the camera didn’t record it. I double-checked all the settings and everything seemed correct, yet the camera simply wasn’t working. Adding to the problem, I was having internet issues right after installation, which meant the cameras wouldn’t connect. I had to reset my internet, and then I was stuck waiting ages to get someone from ADT to come and fix it – I was told it would be at least 40 minutes. Even worse, the technician showed up and, despite being told the service was free, charged me $150 for his time! I refused to pay that, but I still received a work order for the service without even having a chance to review it. Then, to make matters even more complicated, I was told I’d have to pay over $1000 to cancel the service, despite being initially told I had a free trial period. Honestly, it feels like I’m just paying for a service I can’t even use, and the whole process has been incredibly confusing and misleading. I wish I’d done my research before signing up with ADT.

“I’m really disappointed with this experience. I signed up for what seemed like a free security system, and I was really impressed with the initial deal. I even recommended it to my friends and family. However, I was completely blindsided when I received a bill for $1,000 – a bill I wasn't expecting at all. It turns out the contract I agreed to was a 36-month commitment, and canceling it would incur charges for the remaining term. Frankly, the sales representative didn’t fully explain the contract details, and I only focused on the presentation itself. We recently moved to Alaska, and unfortunately, they don’t provide service there, so we couldn’t even keep our service active. It’s incredibly inconvenient, and I think it’s best to explore alternatives like security systems from Amazon – they offer the same protection without the ongoing monthly fees and potential surprises.”
