“We really struggled with keeping our house cool this summer – our A/C was running constantly and the second floor was still stifling. The home inspection revealed our attic insulation was only 30%, so we knew we needed to address it. We’re so glad we contacted DeVere Insulation. Jim was fantastic; he was incredibly accommodating with our busy schedules and even came out on a Saturday to provide an estimate. He was professional and really helpful. The whole team who did the work was also great – we really appreciate their effort and Jim’s assistance!”

“I’m reducing my rating for Devere after they completely resolved the initial issue. It’s been three years since our experience, and it’s been a really frustrating ordeal. We hired Devere to install spray-in insulation in our newly renovated home, recommended by our general contractor. Unfortunately, shortly after using the AC for the first time in the early summer, we discovered wet ceilings. We’d always known the attic insulation was poorly installed – it fell out completely when a door was removed. However, it wasn’t until this point that we realized the full extent of the problem. It turned out Devere hadn't properly installed the insulation, blowing it everywhere, including directly over our AC unit, clogging the drain and causing significant water damage, rust, and other issues within the unit. They eventually admitted the work was shoddy and, thankfully, arranged for Eco Cool, the HVAC company, to fix it, with our GC and Eco Cool present. Despite this, they still haven't paid Eco Cool’s $2,000 bill, even though they repeatedly promised to do so. It’s been two months since Darlene spoke to the owner of Eco Cool about the unpaid bill, and we’re still waiting. Because of this ongoing issue, I strongly recommend against using Devere. They clearly cut corners, and, even after admitting their mistake, they haven’t followed through on their promises. We’re left footing the bill for their poor workmanship, and it’s unacceptable that Eco Cool is still unpaid.”

“Shayne was really great to work with initially and helped us get the ball rolling with the attic and crawlspace. However, things stalled once they realized the space between the walls and brick was too tight. We followed up several times, but unfortunately, we never heard back from them.”

Overall, my experience with Devere and their subcontractor, Foam InSEALators of MD and VA, was incredibly frustrating and, frankly, alarming. I initially contacted them because I’d had a good experience with them on previous energy improvements to my home. I was really looking forward to getting my garage insulated with spray foam, and the initial quote seemed reasonable – around $8000 for a 5.5” deep spray with a thermal barrier. However, the execution was a disaster. They rushed the job, working late into the evening and even bringing in a second crew. Shortly after the work was completed, I noticed the foam was still expanding and dripping, and the thermal barrier wasn’t adhering properly. Worse, a strong, unsettling ammonia smell filled the garage, which Allison initially dismissed as the paint, but I immediately recognized as a sign of improperly cured foam. The final straw was when they attempted to fix broken garage door control wires by twisting them back together – completely disregarding safety and communication. It was clear they were trying to cut corners, and the quality of their work was shockingly poor. It felt like they were trying to avoid responsibility and weren’t transparent about their actions. I was incredibly concerned about the potential health hazards and the damage they’d caused. To be honest, I felt completely ignored and unsupported by Devere, and their lack of communication was incredibly disheartening. It’s a situation that highlights the importance of careful vetting and oversight when hiring contractors, especially with potentially hazardous materials like spray foam.

“The Garmin Dezl GPS was really helpful in getting us right to the delivery spot. Just a heads-up though – there were a lot of delivery trucks parked along the street on both sides, and the roads are pretty narrow. Once you get inside the gate, it’s a bit tight, so take your time. The people working there were incredibly nice, so just be courteous and you’ll have a smooth delivery!”
-
Overall, this is a decent spot for deliveries, but it’s really important to arrive after 6:30 AM. The parking lot fills up incredibly quickly in the morning – you’ll likely find dozens of trucks parked there, all trying to get going around 5-6 AM, which creates a very congested and noisy situation. The dock area is also quite tight and can only handle two trucks at a time. Despite the morning rush and limited dock space, the staff are really friendly and work quickly. The only thing holding them back from a perfect rating is the lack of a place for drivers to grab a quick breakfast – a truck canteen would be a fantastic addition!

“Parking was a real challenge today. While Door #2 was the easiest option – and actually the one I initially went for – the receiving team insisted on using Door #4, even though it’s significantly more difficult and involved a lot of maneuvering. There’s an open space between the two doors, so it really didn’t matter which one we used. It took me over 30 minutes, and I needed assistance from a colleague to finally get the trailer positioned correctly.”

“I was really impressed with the work they did on my new garage. They did a fantastic job installing the spray foam insulation and it was completed quickly – just eight hours – and for a price that was significantly lower than the cost of buying all the materials myself.”
-
“I’m absolutely thrilled with the work that was done on my 1924 home in Halethrope. Honestly, before, it was a constant battle against the heat and cold – summers upstairs were unbearably hot, and winters were freezing. My gas bill was consistently over $230 a month! But this past summer was fantastic – I’ve been saving $30-$40 a month, the upstairs is finally comfortable, and my heating system is fantastic. You guys really went above and beyond what I expected!”
-
“I was really impressed with DeVere. They clearly prioritize their clients and consistently deliver a fantastic level of service – they really go the extra mile. You can be completely confident that your projects will be handled expertly, from beginning to end.”
