  Gelber and his team did an absolutely fantastic job painting my house and block wall. They were punctual, really professional, and kept the area incredibly tidy.   “I hired Gelber’s crew to do some stucco repair and exterior painting on my house, and unfortunately, the whole experience was incredibly concerning. We’d initially discussed a price verbally, but he sent me a bid that was significantly higher – I just assumed it was a misunderstanding due to a language barrier and went ahead with the higher quote. However, the delays started almost immediately; it took two months to get the work started, and he requested a sizable deposit right away, again more than we’d discussed. Then, he insisted on me splitting the deposit into multiple checks made out to him personally, which seemed really strange. As a contractor myself, I felt uneasy and immediately asked for a W-9 to verify his business information, but he and his crew just packed up and left, and he’s since blocked my number. It was a huge red flag that he didn't have insurance, and the whole situation felt incredibly shady. Honestly, I was willing to work with him initially, but the lack of professionalism, the insistence on unusual payment methods, and the refusal to provide basic documentation raised serious concerns about potentially illegal activity. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring him to think very carefully.” report abuse

  Honestly, I wish I had better feedback to give. He seemed like a friendly guy initially, and the price was comparable to what others quoted. However, the quality of the work on my patio grout replacement was really disappointing – it looks terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend using him. report abuse
