  I was really pleased with the work Popeye’s did on my driveway. They were incredibly professional from start to finish, and I’m thrilled with the final result – I’m so excited to finally have a new driveway! What really stood out was their proactive approach; they identified the poor soil beneath my old one and, instead of just proceeding, they contacted me to discuss options and then expertly added insulation.   Popeye’s Asphalt Services was fantastic! Kenny was so responsive – he was the first contractor I contacted, quickly came out to assess the job, and provided a really competitive estimate. Honestly, of all the contractors I spoke with, his was by far the best price. Plus, his team did an absolutely amazing job; they were incredibly careful and paid close attention to detail.   Overall, I was very pleased with Popeye’s Services. Kenny was incredibly thorough, taking the time to answer all my questions about the project, and his crew did a fantastic job – truly outstanding work. It’s also worth noting that he was significantly more competitive in price than other quotes I received. While it was a little challenging to reach him by phone due to his busy season, the quality of the work and the value he offered far outweighed that communication issue. He went above and beyond when I was told my driveway couldn’t be widened. He not only provided a solution, but he actually did the job perfectly, delivered on his promises, and did it all at a fantastic price and within the agreed-upon timeframe. report abuse

  Honestly, I had a really frustrating experience with Popeye’s Services. I got the contractor’s number through my contractor, someone I trust, and his bid was the lowest, which is why I initially went with him. They were supposed to excavate and lay asphalt in front of my shop. Things immediately started going wrong – they just started cutting down a beautiful 40-year-old birch tree without even asking! Then, once the job was finished, they just packed up and left without letting me inspect the work or even saying goodbye. A few days later, I discovered water was flowing into my shop because the grading was done incorrectly. When I called to complain, the guy shrugged it off and said it was a common issue, blaming my flat driveway and suggesting I install gutters. He ended up putting in a concrete gutter, which thankfully fixes the water problem now, but the entire asphalt pad is now uneven and he hasn’t done anything to address that either. He basically told me to "settle down" and said it would sort itself out in the spring, which I seriously doubt. Ultimately, you really do get what you pay for, and I absolutely would not recommend Popeye’s Services. I would have much preferred to pay a little more and work with a contractor who values communication and actually wants to ensure their work is done properly. report abuse
