“I was really frustrated with this experience. I’d made a reservation for a top dresser and aerator two weeks in advance, and I even took time off work to pick them up. Then, just the day before, I was told they no longer had the top dresser because a customer on an account was keeping it longer. It was incredibly disappointing to be told that my confirmed reservation didn't actually guarantee I’d get the item, especially after confirming it twice. The person on the phone was just arguing with me – it felt like they didn’t care about my time or my plans. Honestly, I won’t be doing business with them again.”

“I was in a bit of a bind needing a gas cutoff saw for some asphalt cutting, and I called on a Friday afternoon – pretty last minute. Honestly, the initial interaction felt a little awkward, but the guys at the counter were fantastic. They were incredibly helpful, answering all my questions patiently and without any of that awkward feeling you sometimes get when you’re not sure about something. I really appreciated their help.”

I had a truly awful experience renting a pallet jack from the Sunbelt location on 2nd Ave South in Birmingham. From start to finish, it was clear they had no respect for customer service or business ethics. I needed the jack urgently, and while they did have one available, the whole process was frustrating and deceptive. I was initially surprised to find a $10+ rental protection fee added to my invoice, despite not requesting it. The manager, J.J., simply said “Yeah” when I questioned it, and his dismissive attitude was immediately off-putting. Then, after getting the jack for a day and a half, I was met with complete indifference from the staff – no greeting, no acknowledgment of my presence. Things escalated when I contacted corporate customer service, who were unhelpful and seemed more interested in avoiding the issue. It became clear that the staff were likely getting commissions for adding rental protection, and the delay in receiving my refund only confirmed my suspicions. To add insult to injury, the employee processing my return was completely robotic and unhelpful. Honestly, the only positive thing I can say about the entire experience was that the pallet jack itself worked perfectly. I will never return to this location, and I strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to be extremely cautious.
