“We had a really frustrating experience with this company. They were hired to complete some renovations on our new home, and it took nearly a month of constant fighting to get them to actually finish the work that had already been paid for – including replacing the roof, siding, and inside flooring. Now, just months later, the carpet is already pulling up, the laminate floors are separating, and they left a huge mess of roof and siding debris behind. Despite their ‘cleanup’ and attempted fixes, I’m still finding trash from their work. We’ll likely need to address the gutters again next spring because of the poor quality of their work, and my neighbor is still dealing with the same issues. To add to the problem, our contact was incredibly unprofessional, swearing at my realtor and completely unresponsive to my calls. Honestly, we barely worked with them, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend this company.”

“I ended up using J Benson to fix the water damage in my bathroom, thanks to a recommendation from my insurance company. Honestly, I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews, but I’m so glad we went with them. They were incredibly responsive and got right on the job. The finished work looked fantastic, and I’d definitely recommend them to my family and friends.”

“I absolutely loved working with J Benson Construction. They were incredibly organized and efficient, and I always felt like I could trust them – they were both honest and mindful of my budget. Beyond that, they offered some really smart and creative ideas to make the project fantastic.”

“This was an incredibly frustrating experience. It took nearly three years to rebuild my home after the fire, and the initial contract was only 18 months long. I constantly had to step in and manage subcontractors to resolve billing issues, and there were weeks where we saw absolutely no progress. Ultimately, I felt completely taken advantage of, and I ended up selling the house for just £18,000 after what felt like a complete loss. I had to request a Refund To Value (RTV) and worked with two Project Managers throughout the ordeal.”

“Overall, the actual repair work itself was satisfactory – I’d give it a 4 out of 5. However, the whole experience with invoicing and customer service was really frustrating. I had a neighbor’s tree damage my garage roof in March, and I contacted J. Benson through my insurance agent, who recommended them for ‘emergency services.’ They came out and took care of the immediate problem by removing the branch and covering the roof with a tarp while I sorted things out with my neighbor and my insurance company, based on their initial estimate. But then I got hit with an invoice for just the ‘emergency services’ before my insurance was even finalized. After my insurance was approved, they sent a second invoice for the full job, minus my deposit. Everything seemed to be moving along until I received a completely harassing phone call the very next day about a non-payment of the original ‘emergency services’ invoice – even though I hadn’t even been invoiced for the rest of the work! I tried to explain the situation, but I never got a proper response. Then, weeks later, I got another invoice for the remainder of the construction, and finally, the original ‘emergency services’ invoice arrived a few days later, only to be followed by another demanding phone call the day after that. It felt like they were juggling multiple invoices and communication issues, which created a really uncomfortable and stressful experience – I’m seriously reconsidering using them in the future.”

“We were really happy with the work J Benson Construction did for us. They were a professional and reliable team, carefully repairing the damage while also working with us to find the most cost-effective solutions. We’d definitely use their services again.”

“I can’t recommend these people – my experience was absolutely devastating. After an electrical fire, they preyed on my vulnerability, promising a quick and easy recovery. They swindled me out of a huge sum of money – over $100,000 – and then completely ignored the repairs to my house. For almost two years, nothing was done, no contractors were paid, and there was absolutely no communication. Eventually, they just abandoned the project because I wouldn't let them get away with shoddy work. The owner seemed completely indifferent to the distress they were causing my family. It was a truly frightening experience, with intimidating behavior and a ‘mob-like’ atmosphere. I felt completely unsupported and had to constantly record everything as evidence to protect myself from further attempts to defraud me, including threats from their subcontractors. It was a nightmare, and I urge anyone considering using them to steer clear.”

Mark and his team were absolutely fantastic throughout our renovation – it turned out to be a particularly challenging project with a lot of unexpected issues, but they handled everything with such skill and dedication. He was incredibly attentive, kept us fully informed every step of the way, and is a truly brilliant problem-solver. We honestly couldn’t have done it without them!

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with this team on the Twin Cities Community Rebuild, and I’ve been really impressed by their dedication. They’ve been instrumental in supporting over 30 businesses affected by the recent events, and I especially appreciate their responsiveness and willingness to take responsibility when things don't go exactly as planned. Their commitment to the community is truly admirable, and I’m excited to see what they do next!”

“Honestly, I’m really concerned about this team. Despite claiming to use top-tier contractors, it seems they’re constantly bringing in new people who are just passing through. It’s like they’re hiring whoever’s available, and their responses often feel a bit canned. Plus, their billing is quite aggressive – it raises some serious questions.”
