  Honestly, I’m incredibly frustrated with this company. Booking any kind of service is a complete nightmare. Even with their “preventative” plans, you have to schedule appointments months in advance, and they consistently cancel them at the last minute – just the other day they canceled our appointment 25 days from now, which is when we’re already back in Chicago. It’s clear they’ve become incredibly disorganized. And the worst part was the ridiculous eight-hour wait just to fix a simple leaky faucet. We're going to need to replace our AC and heating units soon, and I dread to think what that call would have been like – “We can get you in on August 22nd.” report abuse

Most recently, they were fantastic; I got a same-day response to my request and they even managed to replace my water heater the same day!   I have to say, I was incredibly impressed with Darrell at Hays. He responded so quickly, diagnosed the issue right away, and got everything resolved incredibly fast. He was also really friendly and took the time to explain everything to me clearly – which was a huge relief after dealing with so many problems with APES.   “I recently used Hays to install two new HVAC units, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I was comparing Trane and Goodman when I spoke with Aaron, the estimator, about a common issue – the gap in Trane units that can attract rodents. Aaron assured me that both brands had this problem and he would supply rodent plates to fix it, along with two portable units during the installation. However, on the day of the installation, the crew arrived without any rodent plates or portable units, despite my repeated requests. I had to chase Aaron down to get one portable unit, and even then, he couldn’t provide the rodent plates I’d been promised. I made numerous attempts to get a response from Hays, but my calls went unanswered. Eventually, someone promised the plates would be ordered, but it’s now over two weeks and I’m still waiting. It’s clear Hays didn’t follow through on their commitments, and I definitely won’t be using them for future installations.” report abuse
